The Watchtowers from The Craft

Charge of the Goddess I5

Priest: Listen to the words of the Great Mother, She who of old was called: Artemis, Astarte, Athene, Dione, Melusine, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Cybele, Arianrhod, Isis, Diana, Brighid, and by many other names:

Priestess: Whenever you have need of anything, once a month, and better it be when the moon is full, then shall you assemble in a magical place and adore the spirit of me, who am Queen of all Witches.

There shall you assemble, you who are fain to learn all Witchery, yet have not won its deepest secrets; to these will be taught things that are yet unknown.

You shall be free from bondage. You shall dance, sing, feast, and make music in all my praise. For mine is the ecstasy of the spirit, and mine is also joy on earth. For my law is love to all beings. Keep pure your highest ideals and strive ever toward them; let nothing stop you or turn you aside. For mine is the Secret Door which opens upon the land of Youth, the Cup of Life, the Cauldron of Cerridwen, which is the Holy Grail of Immortality.

Priest: Hear now the words of the Star Goddess, the dust of whose feet are the hosts of Heaven, whose body encircles the universe:

Priestess: I am the Gracious Goddess, who gives the gift of joy unto the hearts of men. Upon earth, I give the knowledge of the spirit eternal; and beyond death, I give peace, freedom, and reunions with those who have gone before.

Nor do I demand sacrifice; for behold, I am the Mother of all living, and my love is poured upon the Earth. I, who am the green earth and the white moon, the mystery of the waters, and the desire of spirit, call upon your soul. Arise and come unto me. Let my worship be within the heart, for behold, all acts of love are my rituals.

Therefore, let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you. You who seek for me, know your seeking will avail thee not, unless you know the mystery. If that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will not find it without. I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

Charge of the God I

Priestess: Listen to the words of the Great Father, who of old was called Osiris, Adonis, Zeus, Thor, Pan, Cernnunos, Herne, Lugh, and by many other names.

Priest: My Law is harmony with all things. Mine is the secret that opens the gates of life and mine is the dish of salt of the earth that is the body of Cernnunos that is the eternal circle of rebirth. I give knowledge of life everlasting, and beyond death, I give the promise of regeneration and renewal.

I am the sacrifice, the Father of all things, and my protection blankets the earth. Hear the words of the dancing God, the music of whose laughter stirs the winds, whose voice calls the seasons.

I who am the Lord of the Hunt and the Power of Light, sun among the clouds and the secret of the flame. I call upon your bodies to arise and come unto me. For I am the flesh of the earth and all its beings. Through Me all things must die and with me are reborn. Let My worship be in the body that sings, for behold all acts of willing sacrifice are My rituals.

Let there be desire and fear, anger and weakness, joy and peace, awe and longing within you. For these too are part of the mysteries found within yourself, within Me, all beginnings have endings, and all endings have beginnings.

Priestess: Listen to the words of the Horned God, the Guardian of all things wild and free, and Keeper of the Gates of Death, whose Call all must answer.

Priest: I am the fire within your heart, the yearning of your soul. I am the Hunter of Knowledge and the Seeker of the Holy Quest. I who stand in the darkness of light; I am He whom you have called Death. I who am the Consort and Mate of Her we adore, call forth to thee. Heed my call beloved ones; come unto me and learn the secrets of death and peace.

I am the corn at harvest and the fruit on the trees. I am He who leads you home. Scourge and Flame, Blade, and Blood, these are Mine and gifts to thee. Call unto me in the forest wild and on hilltop bare and seek me in the Darkness Bright, I who have been called: Pan, Herne, Osiris, and Hades, speak to thee in thy search.

Come dance and sing; come live and smile, for behold: this is my worship. You are My children and I am thy Father. On swift night wings it is I who lay you at the Mother's feet to be reborn and to return again.

Thou who thinks to seek me, know that I am the untamed wind, the fury of storm and passion in your Soul. Seek me with pride and humility, but seek me best with love and strength. For this is my path, and I love not the weak and fearful. Hear my call on long Winter nights and we shall stand together guarding Her Earth as She sleeps.

By life and love do I invoke thee to descend upon thy servant and Priestess.

Condensed Version of Charge of the Goddess I

Witch's Rune8

Link hands and dance clockwise:

Spin merry meet, merry meet in good measure.

Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, follow along as we join in a dance.

Sing merry meet, merry meet in the Circle.

Come on along, you can join in the song.

Queen of Stars, Queen of the Moon, Queen of Horns, and Queen of Fire,

hearken to this Witch's Rune.

Work our will as we desire.

Invoke Goddesses or make requests. When enough power is raised, the P.O. will give the order, Rush. At which time, all shall rush toward each other sending the cone of power to do its work. If only Goddesses are invoked, the P.O. will give the order, Down. At which time, each woman shall commune with the Goddess she has called. When all have finished their communion, the Goddesses are released.

Goddess Invocation9

Crescent one of the starry skies,

flowered one of the fertile plain,

flowing one of the ocean's sighs,

blessed one of the gentle rain,

hear my chant amidst the standing stones,

open me to Your mystic light,

waken me to Your silver tones,

be with me in my sacred rite.

Drawing Down the Sun10

Let the Hammer strike the Anvil.

Let the Lightning strike the Earth.

Let the Lance ensoul the Grail.

By Flame and Fire do I invoke thee, Mighty Father of us all.

Come in answer to my call and descend upon thy servant and Priest.

Druid's Rune12

Eight men shall stand across from each other, with cords tied to their waists, arms out stretched, and touching shoulders. There shall be fire or a candle in a cauldron under the middle of the cords. Walk clockwise.

Golden lamps of heaven, farewell with all your light.

Farewell the ever-changing Moon, Pale Empress of the night.

The orb of day, in brighter flames arrayed, no longer needs thine aid.

The Sun shines on all men's ways, and not on mine alone.

Each man must learn the right, and his own eyes must see the light.

Invoke Gods or make requests. Walk until cords burn through, which releases the cone of power. If cords melt together, the power will not release itself until all unfinished business is taken care of.

God Invocation13

Horned one of the enchanted wood,

harvested one of the barren field,

howling one of the fury of the storm,

blessed sun of the cloudless sky,

open me to Your mystic light.

Waken me to Your golden tones,

be with me in my sacred rite.
